Sleep

Over the past couple weeks, Dave and I have finally started having Lila sleep in her bassinet for the first x number of hours at night. She’s not falling asleep by herself yet, though. Baby steps. Once she falls asleep either eating or in my arms while bouncing on a medicine ball, I lay her in her bassinet. She wakes up briefly almost every time. I think this is good because at least she falls back asleep by herself.

At first, she would wake up after only an hour or two but is now consistently up to at least 3 hours. Once she wakes up, I bring her to bed with me and feed her until we both fall asleep. If I didn’t work, I might stay up while she eats and put her back in the bassinet, but I have to be at work at 8:30 every morning and I need my sleep. Besides, I’m happy with how this is working out.

Last night, she slept 4.5 hours in her bassinet and two nights ago was nearly 5 hours! I’m so proud of her. Once shes consistently sleeping at least 6 hours, that’s when we’ll probably move her to her crib. I might start having Lila take her long nap in her crib soon so she grows accustomed to it. She takes her nap in her swing now… I know this is a habit we need to break.
