Breastfeeding in public has quite a history. Luckily, there are now laws to protect breastfeeding mothers and their right to feed their children wherever they have a right to be. Out of curiosity, I asked my twitter friends their opinion on breastfeeding in public. Specifically, I sent out this tweet:
Breastfeeding in public – what are your thoughts? And I mean tasteful, no boobs flying around.... 
Most nights aren’t too bad. Lila will typically wake up 1-2 times but we’ll both fall right back asleep nursing, so it isn’t a big deal. She always starts the night in her bassinet and I bring her to bed with me the first time she wakes up.
Last night, she only woke up twice, but the first time was for 3 hours! When she woke up at 12:30, I did what I always do and immediately started... 
Lila had her 4 month well baby check-up today. It went great!
Here’s her new stats:
Weight: 13 pounds, 11 ounces – 40th percentile
Height: 24.75″ – 50th percentile
Head Circumference: 16.5″ – 70th percentile

Lila is napping in her crib for the first time! Usually I put her in the pack-n-play for little daytime naps because every time I have tried the crib, she wakes up because I have to bend down so low to put her in. Well, she did wake up this time as well but fell back to sleep! Yay! Go Lila!
Our plan is to get Lila used to napping in there during the day so that when we transition to having her sleep...

Lila had her 2 month check-up this morning. Here are her new measurements and percentiles.
Weight: 10 pounds 14 ounces, 35th percentile
Height: 22.5 inches, 40th percentile
Head Circumference: 15.5 inches, 60th percentile
So she’s a little one! Doc wasn’t concerned though and said she is perfectly healthy. Although she’s on the smaller... 
We got some! Yesterday, we took a 2 hour nap, then slept from about 9p to 1a, then from 2a to 8a. Oh my goodness, it was wonderful! Both of us were in desperate need of that sleep. As a result, today was a good day. I’m still sick, but since I’m not exhausted as well, it’s not nearly as bad. I hope sleeping goes just as well... 
Well, after a good stretch of a lot of sleep, we had a couple hard days.
Two nights ago was terrible. Lila was fussy all night long. I was going to try letting her sleep in her bassinet again, but that wasn’t going to happen since she never entered a state of deep sleep. She was fussy all night long. Sometimes she would nurse and calm down, sometimes she wouldn’t. She wasn’t screaming... 
At Lila’s 1 week appointment with the midwives, they did a hearing screen to make sure she could hear. Her right ear passed, but her left ear got a referral. The midwife assured as that this did not necessarily mean anything was wrong, but that her test wasn’t sophisticated enough to determine the results. She told us that over 90% of referrals end up with perfectly good result. So she gave... 
Yay!! Lila is now 8 pounds 10 ounces, which is a half ounce more than her birth weight We reached our goal and now we can stop supplementing the disgusting formula that she hated anyway. Seriously, she hated it. She’d spit it out and throw it up. Oh happy day. I need a...
